Unrest

One Sunday Morning, after a successful work week;

I lay upon my bed, and anxiety filled my head.

My heart rate was slightly elevated, and my mind was racing.

So, I readjusted my pillows to and fro,  to comfort my soul,

But my soul was still not at ease. So, I rose to pray,

I prayed the transparent Psalms of David, telling my Father bout the enemy who afflicts his children.

I said, “LORD, they even attack the children.”

And Peace rested upon me as I heard a voice saying, “I am with you, son.”

The same one who spoke to me told me bout the dark ones; and Peace, they just don’t know.

They only know unrest, even the unrest of their fate.

Knowing the fate of their eternal state; You know, these dark ones, they resolve to hate the souls who have the potential of crossing the threshold of heaven’s gate.

So, the dark ones, they only know unrest; And they use it, one of their most formidable weapons of torment.

But why me, the human soul?!

Or should I say, why not me?

Formed from the dust of the ground; Yet made in Yah’s image.

Breathing his breath; Rescued by Peace, even his namesake

The peace I have in Jesus is unshakeable and eternal.

Bought with his blood, and I’m heaven bound.

The unrest of the dark ones is the only thing they can resolve to do for now.

Because they have chosen an existence where no rest can be found.
