The Perfect Gift: Are You Polite?

On Christmas morning, my children look forward to opening their gifts. The traditional way of looking under the tree is not what my children experience. When they were little, my mother-in-love began the tradition of setting their gifts in a specific location across the living room for each child. The gifts were already set up for them. They didn't have to look under the tree to find their gift with their name on it. They wake up and see the set-up and start saying thank you, granny, thank you pop, thank you, mama, thank you, daddy.

WOW!!

There is a GIFT that God has given us that we don't even have to look for. John 3:16 "for God so loved the world that he GAVE his only begotten son, and whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life".

Listen this gift doesn't need wrapping, it doesn't need a bow on it, it doesn't get old, and it doesn't have shipping and handling fees. It is expensive and yet free. God has given us a gift, but how polite are you? Do you accept the gift God has given you? or Do you constantly reject the gift?

My prayer today is that you accept the gift. God gives the best gifts. So many people in our world have rejected the gift because of popular beliefs. So many people are fixed on material gifts rather than the ultimate gift. Yes, God wants us to enjoy gifts but he first wants us to accept the gift of life. Romans 10:9 states, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." We must believe! It amazes me how we believe in science, medicine, and technology, but we don't believe in God. He is the one who created mankind!

I pray that you accept the gift of eternal life. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23. Don't give in to sin. God wants us to stop sinning. Romans 6 confirms that God forbids sin. The scripture says the Lord doesn't want any of us to perish, but we all should come to repentance. ( 2 Peter 3:9).

Are you willing to accept the perfect gift and live a life devoted to God to have eternal life? Or are you willing to gamble with sin and cause your soul to burn in a fiery lake for eternity? The choice is yours. I'd choose the gift that was given to us thousands of years ago by our Great God. A gift that is still in perfect condition, that gift is JESUS CHRIST.
