I Love Your Company

After several hours of musing and meditating on God’s word,

I heard my Lord utter the sweetest words I ever heard.

He said, “Thank you for allowing me to dwell with you today.”

I responded “Ummm, thank you for allowing me to dwell with you today.”

After repeating the same words back and forward for about three times,

I asked the Lord “Why are you thanking me for allowing you to dwell with me?”

“I was the one born in sin and far from perfect.”

“You are the one who is sinless and perfect in every way.”

Then I heard my Lord say, “I love your company.”

It was as if I heard the sound of joy from a father who was once distant from his son because of the evil his son had done.

The father’s beloved had become an enemy on the run.

But because of the tender love and sacrifice of the Father’s only begotten Son,

I am no longer am plagued by guilt.

I am no longer banished from the Garden of Eden,

No longer separated by sin.

No longer an enemy of the state.

For my sin has been washed away by my Father’s only begotten.

‘Twas Amazing Grace that bought my pardon.

My heart’s no longer hardened by sin.

You see, my father is not only my King but he is also my friend.

Forever my heart is his dwelling place,

A love that knows no end.
