A Lovely Reminder

What if I told you I love you?
Would it mean anything to you?
It meant everything to me.
Because I gave everything and everyone I had to show it.
I gave all of myself so that you can feel it.
I’m disappointed that you don’t know it.
I think you do know, but sometimes you doubt if it’s real,
Especially, when the chaotic world you live in tries to tell you what you feel.
A little pain, a little grief, a little fear, a little anger, the grit of your teeth, a little frustration, even with me you’ve lost your patience.
I approach you as softly as I can so as not to wound you any further to ask you,
What if I told you I that I really love you?
I gave my all just to show you.
Man, I feel you.
Doubt, pain, and rejection are real.
Grief, betrayal, and sorrow are real too.
But none of that compares to the love I have for you.
Darryl, I gave my only begotten for you.
My only begotten gave his life for you.
I chose humility, grace, and truth;
Made my abode within you.
We are bigger and better than this,
The things of this world.
They don’t compare.
You have a place,
One that I have prepared.
When you face life’s transitions, you can trust that my love for you is consistent.
Hold my hand as you traverse the sands of this strange land.
In times when can not see;
When you are to heavy to stand.
Remember, I love you, and I have a plan.
